About Angie
Angie Lane knew she wanted to be an architect before she even knew the word for it. At age four, her father showed her a set of drafting tools—and something clicked. By the time he told her they belonged to an architect, her path was set. She immersed herself in drafting courses, selected her college for its architecture program, and began working in architecture firms straight out of high school.

Today, Angie brings over 25 years of experience to her practice, with a portfolio that ranges from historic Chicago brownstones to celebrated Frank Lloyd Wright residences. Her work is deeply rooted in craft, context, and function—qualities that also define her bestselling design book, Midwest Modern Manifesto.
